During the Edogawa City Fireworks Festival, approximately 14,000 fireworks are launched over the vast banks of the Edogawa River. The launch is handled by Souke Hanabi Kagiya, a historic fireworks company dating back to the Edo period (1603-1867) that is famous for the traditional cheer, "Kagiya". Each year, corresponding background music plays to seven different themes as beautiful fireworks light up the night sky. The event features a signature opening act, where a thousand fireworks explode in five seconds; a spectacular vision of Mt. Fuji—now certified as the tallest of its kind in the world; and a climax featuring a simultaneous surge of "Kinkamuro" (Gold Crown) fireworks, with golden sparks cascading down like weeping willows.
Having celebrated its 50th milestone in 2025, the 51st festival marks a fresh start, electrifying the venue with unprecedented displays and "music fireworks."
Please come and enjoy the Edogawa City Fireworks Festival, a spectacular blend of tradition and new challenges.
